Shredding & eWaste Recycling
University Credit Union, the UCLA Emeriti/Retirees Relations Center and Sergeant Shredder have teamed up to organize a free shredding event on Saturday, September 13. This is a great opportunity for university students, retired UCLA faculty, UCU members and the surrounding Los Angeles community to get together and have some fun while getting rid of unwanted paper and electronics.
UCU Shredding Event Details
Sergeant Shredder will be onsite at University Credit Union’s main branch. You won’t be able to miss our colorful truck in the parking lot. This is the perfect time to clean out those overfull filing cabinets and boxes stuffed with old unwanted paper with sensitive information. So mark your calendar:
Saturday, September 13
9am to 1pm
University Credit Union
Main Branch Parking Lot
1500 S Sepulveda Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA
Our mobile shredding truck allows you to see your items shredded literally before your eyes. We’ve got a truck-mounted video camera… so you can watch as your paper completely destroyed. We’re a licensed, bonded, professional and locally-owned shredding company. Here are few tips to make Saturday’s paper shredding event easier for you:
- Do bring dry paper (as wet paper will damage the truck’s shredding system)
- No need to remove staples, brads and paperclips
- No plastic bags, cardboard, newspaper, books or magazines
e-Waste Recycling Too
University Credit Union and the UCLA Emeriti/Retirees will also accept electronic waste. You can bring things like old computers, monitors, cell phones, televisions, laptops, VCR & DVD players, hard drives, etc. Please note that hazardous waste, batteries, light bulbs or household appliances will not be accepted.
